Anatomy Essentials for Yoga Teachers

Are you looking for yoga anatomy education that you can trust? Is it challenging to get started and maintain momentum? While there are plenty of resources out there, it’s easy to get lost in a sea of options or to leave the books on the shelf. Whether you’re a new teacher who didn't get enough anatomy instruction in teacher training or you're an experienced teacher with a strong desire to build advanced knowledge about the body's structure and function, it can feel overwhelming. Anatomy Essentials for Yoga Teachers is a perfect place to start building a strong foundation for a lifetime of learning.

You'll increase your knowledge of the function of the body to develop pain-free practices and prevent injury. As you learn to analyze postures, you'll be able to design more effective and creative sequences, give clear and authentic cues, and know that you are leading students through a balanced class. Lessons are practical and relevant so that you can implement what you learn right away.

When you sign up for Anatomy Essentials for Yoga Teachers, you'll gain instant access to content that includes PDFs and videos to build your knowledge around:
  • the functions of the skeletal system
  • the major bones of the body including a deep dive into the spine
  • anatomical terminology for joint motion
  • yoga posture analysis
There are also quizzes throughout to help with memorization and recall and plenty of resources that complement what you'll learn. If you're ready to learn more about anatomy and biomechanics, sign up for this free course today!

Thank you Jen, I appreciate the passion you exude when it comes to anatomy and yoga – it's infectious and inspired me to want to learn more! - Rochelle Clark, YTT student

Jen makes difficult concepts easy to understand. Standing on our mats and working with our muscles is fun! - YTT student

Jen Wilking is awesome! So much knowledge pouring out of her! It really helped pull together how yoga affects our anatomy and how to properly align poses. I'm an "anatomy junky" because of her.

During my recent teacher training, Jen Wilking made a six hour presentation of anatomy as it pertains to yoga. Jen did a fantastic job of presenting a lot of information clearly in a short amount of time. Interspersing the asanas & relating anatomy to our own bodies really helped integrate the presentation, and made the complex (to me) information easier to absorb. - Brenn Lea Pearson, YTT student

Jen’s workshops are an amazing reference guide not only to the anatomy of the body, but to understanding the way move within yoga poses. In each session of Anatomy Club, a different section of the body is taught. She often has us get into yoga poses while learning about specific bones, muscles and tendons to better understand particular motions and joints. The information is challenging, but she breaks down the terminology so it’s easy to remember and understand. After each session, I leave feeling so happy to have a more integrated understanding and visualization of the human body. - Kayle Lamar, yoga student and teacher

I've never been a fan of the sciences yet I believe strongly in having knowledge since I workout a lot. This class finally "pinned" me down to learn! Really great job!!! I could see and hear your passion!
- YTT student

I like facts! It was nice to know how yoga and the body directly affect each other in a practical way. I enjoyed analyzing the poses and really thinking about what muscles and joints get worked or stretched. - YTT student
